How does it work?

 

Changing careers is never easy. In order to move  into a Project role, you will need to understand some basic concepts and the differences between Business-as-Usual and Project Work. Becoming a useful Project team member requires some hands-on skills in Status Reporting, Scheduling, Finance Risks/Issues Management and Stakeholder Management. We help you become a useful contributor by providing the requisite hands-on skills then provide coaching in networking and applying for project rols.

 

What is a Project Coordinator?

The Project Coordinator is the pivotal role in a Project team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support the entire team to the project runs smoothly, meeting deadlines, solving problems and delivering the project objectives.

The variety of activities include Status Reporting, Scheduling, Finance, Risks/ Issues Management, Communication and Stakeholder Management. No two days are the same.

What is a Project Coordinators career path?

Project Coordinator roles are a great entry level project management job, Many Project Coordinators move into well-paid full-time and contract roles. Apart from Project Manager roles, some have become Business Analysts and Change Managers. A significant number of Project Coordinators stay in the same role but move from contract to contract across multiple projects and organisations. Any way you look at it, when it comes to careers, project management career path is a great option.

What will I learn from the course?

The course provides basic skills in Status Reporting, Scheduling, Finance, Risks/Issues Management, Communications and Stakeholder Management.

These are the same skills that our founder wished every Project Coordinator he recruited came with.

How long do I have to do the course?

We have set the expiry period at 3 months. The basic course should take a total of 8-10 hours in total to complete. The course is self paced, so you can choose to complete it in a day or spend a few hours per week, completing it at your leisure. Three months will provide you with more than enough time to complete the course Any longer and participants may lose focus.

What do I do after the course?

You can join our networking groups and discuss your next career move with like-minded folk. We attend all networking groups and provide advice as needed. For a more focused approach you can work with us

directly for 1-on-1 coaching.

What other courses are available?

The free introductory course will give you an understanding of the role of a Project Coordinator. It will explain the skills you need to have in order to succeed in the role and help you decide if going forward with the paid course is right for you.

 

We are currently developing the advanced course which builds skills in networking, selecting, applying and interviewing for project roles.

How do I network into a project role?

 

Assuming you wish to stay with your current organisation, you can use the hands-on skills you have developed to volunteer to do project tasks. Start by getting across the projects in your department and then choose where you can contribute

How do I apply for Project Coordinator roles?

Obviously, no two roles are the same. Some require specific expertise in construction, contracts or IT. You first need to work out what your fit is, then select the types of roles that would suit you. You then need to develop a sound and personal approach towards the screening, application and interview processes. Doing your research is the key.

What training platform do you use for this on-line course?

The training course is on the Teachable on-line training platform. If you decide to do the course, you will be directed to the Teachable website where you can enrol in the course.
