An idea is born
Cooper was running a large program in Seoul, Korea, where most of the project staff did not speak fluent English. All the project work stream leaders were English speakers from the US, Hong Kong and Philippines. Cooper’s solution was to recruit and train four English speaking graduates to manage translation as well as do status reporting, basic scheduling, financial tracking and updating of risk and issues registers.
The result; a homegrown PMO delivering practical governance while making it easy for each work stream to interface and maximise their contribution to the program.
Both QPC owners share a common concern for friends and colleagues who leave the workforce and need to find a way back into rewarding careers. Project Coordinator roles offer a great solution for people with solid administrative and communication skills to move into a flexible career that offers great pay and challenges. The role can also lead to career growth in the world of Project Management.
